The Lexington Council for the Artsis pleased to co-host, with the Lexington Open Studios Artists, a reception in honor of its 2012 grant award recipients.

This event is held in conjunction with the Artists Reception for the Lexington Open Studios.  This is a unique opportunity for the Lexington arts community to come together in celebration of the arts in Lexington.

The Lexington Council for the Arts is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.

This year, the Lexington Council funded 13 grants totaling more than $4,500. The Lexington Council for the Arts will seek applications again in the fall. Information and forms are available online at www.massculturalcouncil.org and http://www.artslexington.org/grants.html.
Applications are due October 15.
