The Lexington Council for the Arts will be awarding Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) funds to individual artists, musicians, performers, arts and cultural organizations and schools. The amount of funding will depend entirely on the arts and culture support provided for MCC through the state budget. See the MCC website for the latest updates.
Local Cultural Council Grants are awarded to community cultural projects that support the cultural vitality of the community as a whole. Individual artists, art and humanities organizations and community organizations may apply for these grants.
Applications are evaluated in terms of several review criteria: artistic or creative merit; benefit to the cultural life of Lexington; project design; qualifications, dedication and accomplishments of the individuals and organizations involved; accessibility of the program and of facilities being used; community support and involvement; and financial need. Our priority is to support locally based non-profit arts and cultural organizations and local individual artists where local support or community involvement has been demonstrated. Also of interest are first-time funding of programs or projects and emerging artists or arts organizations that have demonstrated artistic merit. Due to limited resources and the LCA’s interest in supporting numerous and diverse programming, we do not ordinarily grant more than $500 per applicant/organization.
The Standard Application Form must be completed, postmarked by October 15, and mailed to:

c/o Selectmen's Office
1625 Massachusetts Ave
Lexington, MA 02420
Application forms and specific guideline are available at www.mass-culture.org/Lexington. Individual members of the Lexington Council for the Arts may be contacted for more information.
